EP #10 - Rotten Tomatoes Score Face-Off, FX’s ‘The Bear’, and The End to Another Year!

THE DAY HAS FINALLY COME. Episode 10 of FILM FRAT Podcast is upon us, and what better way to celebrate such a monumental achievement than to host our very first game show! To the left, we have our VERY FIRST guest, McKenzie, who has her fair share of Movie and TV knowledge that no one would dare challenge. She has been part of the process since day 1 and now she gets to share her voice and correct the mistakes that the boys seem to always make. Our second contestant is none other than Alex himself. He can’t help but feel as though he hasn’t seen any movies this year because he just can’t remember everything that he’s watched. Who better to host the show than our beloved Curtis! A natural-born entertainer, he presents us with what might be this year’s fiercest challenge!

Let’s start off by taking a deep dive into possibly one of the best shows of this year: ‘The Bear’. An FX original, ‘The Bear’ stars the likes of Jeremy Allen White, Matty Matheson and it introduces us to a variety of “Chef’s” that operate a family-owned restaurant. The boys discuss the anxiety-rooted themes, crazy plot points, lovable characters, and favorite moments of the show! In our opinion, this is a MUST watch.

After TEN whole podcast episodes of Alex pleading and convincing, Curtis has finally immersed himself in the universe of ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’, which is an electrifying and action-packed anime series that seamlessly blends supernatural elements with intense martial arts combat. This anime has garnered widespread acclaim for its engaging storytelling, memorable characters, and stunning animation. Whether you're a seasoned anime enthusiast or a newcomer to the genre, this series promises a thrilling and emotionally resonant journey! Now we’ll see if Curtis picks up ‘Attack on Titan’ lol.

As usual, the boys racked up quite a heavy list of things that they consumed in the entertainment sector. Just to switch it up a little, they tackle the challenge of doing a rapid-fire segment where they either “recommend” to the audience or don’t, plain and simple. The best part is that they don’t necessarily limit the list to only movies and TV shows, it can also include things such as video games and music albums! They talk about projects such as ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’, Insomniac’s ‘Spider-Man 2’, Night Lovell’s “I HOPE YOU’RE HAPPY’, and more! It’s also worth mentioning that Rockstar finally released a trailer for the most anticipated piece of material in the last decade: GTA VI. BUT we have to wait until 2025, so that’s a whole different discussion.
